are conducted before each shift. It might be required as and when deviations are detected that work will be stopped, permit will be cancelled and, or unless the matter needs urgent attention.
Toolbox Talks
is a platform where communication is made between management and employees.
Toolbox talks
are held to communicate the following but not limited to:
- Daily TRA’s (Task Risk Assessments)
- Daily Task Specific Method Statements
- Daily Safe Works Permit requirements
- MSDS's (Material Safety Data Sheets) of commodities that will be used during that shift.
- MSDS's information must be shared with First Aider and Fire Fighter.
- Challenges and gaps from the previous shift to be discussed and corrective action to be implemented.
- Incident recording and Incident Management.
- SWP (Safe Works Procedures).
- Feedback and communication from Senior Management.
During
Toolbox Talk
the primary objective is to focus on the Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) related topics specific to the job at hand.
Toolbox Talks
are usually short and aligned only to the Task Method Statement for that shift. Safety, Health and Environment is paramount in the workplace as it protects employees, contractors, visitors, property and the environment from harm or possible physical harm or even fatality.
Prevention is better than cure!
